Creative Journey

After having survived, extreme trauma, and all kinds of craziness, I finally made it to Mexico City where I went to graduate school at UNAM, Academia de San Carlos. I was making walk-in sculptures at the time as well as painting and drawing . Yeah I did this all in Spanish. I was so tortured emotionally that to learn thousands of words and building things completely kept my mind off of my thoughts and on something productive. This was a great time and I still have some amazing friends from this era. As an artist, I do think that graduate school is the ultimate best part of the whole artist life. You know all of the artists are working together helping each other sometimes when you get out of that you gotta deal with competing for the same gallery wall. These things go against the soul of the artist the soul of the artist is so pure and lovely. We just want to help. We want to create beauty. We want to make the world a better place. Graduate school is an amazing place where all of those dreams are still alive. My dreams are still alive, but economic realities are real. Perhaps it was just at Mexico is such a people oriented place but I really didn't feel that sense of competition but more of camaraderie. That's also what I like about the digital art space in the NFT space, people are from all over the world and every different level of experience. Well, there is competition for the big money, any artist and put their work on the Blockchain and make some posts about it on X to share it with people and sometimes get sales.
